Suleja, Niger State – Tensions escalated in Suleja on Thursday as at least six protesters were reportedly shot dead, with several others sustaining injuries.
The tragic incident occurred when security operatives attempted to disperse protesters who had mounted barricades on a section of the Abuja-Kaduna highway.
Eyewitnesses reported chaos as the security forces struggled to dislodge the demonstrators, leading to the fatal shootings.
