Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has announced the appointment of Joseph Eboigbe as the new Secretary to the State Government following the resignation of Osarodion Ogie.

Ogie stepped down to focus on his political career, having been selected as the running mate to the Peoples Democratic Party’s gubernatorial candidate, Asue Ighodalo, for the upcoming Edo State election.

In a statement released on Monday by Crusoe Osagie, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media Projects, Obaseki expressed gratitude for Ogie’s dedication and service over the past seven years. The governor wished him success in his new political role and expressed confidence that Ogie would leverage his experience effectively.

The statement also confirmed Eboigbe’s immediate appointment as the Secretary to the State Government. Eboigbe, a chartered accountant with a notable background at Deloitte and a master’s degree in Leadership and Strategy from the London Business School, previously served as Special Adviser on Budget and Economic Planning and later as Commissioner for Finance.

Eboigbe will now oversee the final stages of the Governor’s agenda, “Finishing Strong,” in his new role.
