Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has declared that reconciliation between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is no longer feasible due to the escalating nature of their political feud.
Fayose expressed regret over the fallout between Wike and his successor, Fubara, but maintained that the conflict has gone too far for any resolution. Describing the situation as “unfortunate,” Fayose emphasized that the breach of trust between the two leaders makes reconciliation impossible.
“This crisis is very, very unfortunate. I believe the matter has crossed the Rubicon,” Fayose said. He further added, “Even if you want to resolve this matter, where do you put the trust part? I believe it is too far in the day to call for reconciliation.”
In addition to commenting on the Wike-Fubara rift, Fayose also criticized the ongoing crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), calling it embarrassing. He condemned the suspension and counter-suspension actions taken by different factions of the PDP leadership, which he said have weakened the party.
Fayose concluded by stating that only divine intervention could salvage the PDP from its current troubles.
