The Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), retired Deputy Inspector General Hashimu Argungu, has cautioned candidates against bribery or any attempt to compromise the ongoing admission process at the Police Academy in Wudil, Kano.
During a supervisory visit to oversee the 2024 Post-JAMB admission screening, Argungu emphasized that fairness, merit, and transparency would guide the exercise. He warned that candidates caught engaging in unethical practices would face immediate disqualification.
“Any candidate negotiating to pay money for consideration should be weeded out. The process must run on merit and transparency,” Argungu said, according to a statement by PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani.
Argungu also inspected facilities at the academy, including its moot court, clinic, library, lecture theatres, and screening centers. He addressed complaints about malfunctioning computers and ordered their immediate repair to facilitate smooth operations.
The PSC Chairman lauded the academy’s leadership under Commandant AIG Abubakar Sadiq for adopting innovative measures like computer-based testing, which ensures immediate results and enhances accountability.
The visit reinforces the commission’s commitment to maintaining integrity and equity in police recruitment processes.
