Uchechi Okwu-Kanu, the wife of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, has called on the UK government to pressure Nigeria for her husband’s release. Kanu has been detained since June 2021 following his rearrest in Kenya and extradition to Nigeria under President Buhari’s administration.
In a recent statement, Uchechi highlighted how Kanu’s absence is deeply affecting their son, who expressed his pain in a school assignment.
She urged the UK, known for championing human rights, to uphold its legacy and help secure Kanu’s release.
