Pastor Mike Bamiloye, the Founder of Mount Zion Faith Ministries, has expressed concerns over the frequent absence of some female ministers from their homes due to ministry commitments, leaving their husbands to manage the local church alone.
In a Facebook post on Monday, Bamiloye highlighted the struggles faced by these husbands, who often deal with loneliness and isolation while their wives travel extensively for ministry work.
Bamiloye remarked that many of these female ministers enjoy comfortable accommodations and lavish meals provided by their hosts during their travels, while their husbands remain at home with limited support.
“There is a class of female ministers who never stay home with their husbands. They travel everywhere, staying in hotels and suites as they minister, enjoying the best of sumptuous meals provided by their hosts, while their husbands remain at home, managing the local church alone,” he wrote.
He further noted that when husbands attempt to address the situation or set boundaries, they are often accused of suppressing their wives’ visions and callings.
According to Bamiloye, some of these women spend months away from home, “preaching” across the globe while their spouses rely on relatives or housemaids for meals and support.
He criticized the pattern of public praise for husbands during sermons, stating that these acknowledgments often mask the reality of the husbands’ struggles.
“They often stand behind pulpits, introducing their sermons with praises for their husbands: ‘I bring you greetings from my husband, the owner of my head, the payer of my dowry, without whom I would not be here today. He sends his warm greetings,’ even while the man is suffering in loneliness at home,” Bamiloye added.
His comments have sparked conversations on balancing ministry obligations with family responsibilities among Christian leaders and their spouses.
