The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency has announced the arrest of a suspect accused of raping a 14-year-old girl in Alakuko, Lagos. The agency, in a statement posted on X.com on Friday, revealed that it is working in collaboration with the Lagos State Police Command to investigate the case thoroughly.
The statement confirmed that the survivor is receiving comprehensive medical care, while the suspect remains in police custody. The agency expressed gratitude to those who brought the case to their attention and assured the public that efforts are being made to ensure justice.
The statement read, “We appreciate everyone who brought the tragic incident of child sexual abuse in Alakuko, Lagos to our attention. We are working with the #LagosPoliceNG in investigating the case. The survivor is receiving comprehensive medical care, and the suspect is currently in police custody. More details will follow.”
The case came to light on Monday when it was reported that the girl was allegedly raped by her landlord’s son in the Alakuko area.
