Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has urged the 2,615 Batch B (Stream II) National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members recently deployed to rural areas in Kaduna to accept their postings in good faith and quickly integrate into their new communities.
During the closing ceremony at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp at Government College, Kaduna, on Tuesday, Sani, represented by the Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development, Hajiya Rabi Salizu, congratulated the corps members on completing their 21-day orientation course. He stressed the importance of adapting to local customs and traditions, maintaining dedication and professionalism, and embracing a spirit of service as they begin their primary assignments.
“The state government is committed to providing you with the necessary support for a productive and rewarding service year,” Governor Sani assured. He emphasized the critical role corps members play in promoting national unity and development.
NYSC Kaduna State Coordinator, Mr. Hassan Mahmud Taura, praised the corps members for their performance during orientation and encouraged them to participate actively in Community Development Service projects. Taura urged the corps members to apply the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development training they received and to avoid social vices such as corruption, nepotism, tribalism, and religious bigotry.
“As you move forward into your primary assignments and community development services, remember that your service contributes significantly to our nation’s development,” Taura said.
The corps members will embark on their next phase of service, which includes working in various communities and contributing to national development efforts. They will culminate their service year with a passing-out parade in approximately ten months.
