Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden passing of human rights activist and former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ikeja branch, Mr. Adesina Ogunlana.

In a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, on Wednesday, Sanwo-Olu described Ogunlana’s death as a significant loss. He extended his condolences to the Ogunlana family and the entire NBA community, particularly the Ikeja branch, mourning the loss of a “fearless and courageous lawyer.”

The governor highlighted Ogunlana’s impactful life, noting that he was affectionately known as “Serubawon” by his colleagues. Sanwo-Olu praised Ogunlana for his dedication to advocating for the rights of ordinary people and prayed for the repose of his soul. He also asked for God’s strength and comfort for Ogunlana’s family and friends during this difficult time.
