The Katsina State Police Command recently paraded Adewumi Gabriel, the Head of ATM Operations at a new-generation bank’s Daura branch, for conspiring with a colleague, David Mesioye (who is currently at large), to steal N18 million from a customer’s account. The theft was uncovered during an audit. Adewumi confessed to using his inside knowledge of the bank’s operations to facilitate the theft. The police recovered N10.18 million from his various bank accounts, along with N366,900 in cash and other valuables.

In a separate incident, Bishir Abdullahi, a 37-year-old from Sokoto State, was arrested at an ATM in Katsina after being caught with 14 stolen ATM cards.
