Nigerian sensation Asake has added another milestone to his rapidly expanding career with the release of his third album, ‘Lungu Boy,’ on August 9, 2024. This latest project solidifies his status as a global music icon, following a remarkable rise to fame since his mainstream breakthrough in 2022.
The new album features a star-studded lineup, including collaborations with Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Wizkid, British rappers Central Cee and Stormzy, American rapper Travis Scott, and Brazilian singer Ludmila. These high-profile partnerships showcase Asake’s ability to bridge different music cultures and further elevate his international appeal.
‘Lungu Boy’ follows Asake’s recent string of successful singles, including ‘Only Me’ and ‘Wave’ featuring Central Cee, and ‘Active’ with Travis Scott. This release continues the momentum from his previous collaborations with artists like Zlatan, Ayra Starr, Victony, Tems, and Central Cee.
In addition to the album launch, Asake is gearing up for his ‘Lungu Boy’ tour, which will see him perform at prestigious venues such as the O2 Arena and Madison Square Garden. This tour marks a significant achievement, making him only the fourth Nigerian artist to headline at Madison Square Garden.
Asake’s journey from his debut album, ‘Mr. Money With The Vibe,’ which won Album of the Year at the 2023 Headies Awards, to his second album, ‘Work of Art,’ known for the record-breaking hit ‘Lonely At The Top,’ highlights a consistent and impressive rise in the music industry. With ‘Lungu Boy,’ Asake continues to redefine the boundaries of Afrobeats and global music.
