The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has commended the academic excellence of students benefiting from the state’s foreign scholarship program during his visit to Sharjah University in India. The visit highlighted the success of the initiative, which aims to empower Kano’s youth through advanced education opportunities abroad.
In a statement released Wednesday by the governor’s spokesman, Sunusi Tofa, Yusuf praised the students for their dedication and impressive performance, describing it as a testament to the value of investing in education. “The resources allocated to this program were wisely spent, as these students have exceeded our expectations with their remarkable results,” Yusuf said.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to education, emphasizing that fostering young talents is essential to achieving a prosperous Kano State. As part of the 100:1 Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme, the program supports over 400 students in Uganda and India.
“The visit provided me with the opportunity to engage directly with the students, understand their challenges, and gain valuable insights for enhancing the program,” the governor remarked. He noted that the initiative would continue with robust preparations for future beneficiaries, ensuring the scheme’s successful completion during his first tenure.
