The Oyo State Government has announced plans to recruit 791 new civil servants into its mainstream service, marking the largest recruitment drive in two decades.

Alhaji Kamoru Aderibigbe, Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission, disclosed this information during a press briefing in Ibadan on Wednesday. The recruitment will include 230 education officers and 561 other positions within the civil service.

Aderibigbe highlighted that prospective applicants can access the application portal at www.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng from October 7 to October 11. This online application process aims to ensure transparency, fairness, and equity in recruitment.

He outlined the qualifications for applicants, stating that those applying for degree-required positions must hold a university degree with a minimum of second-class honors. For those seeking positions requiring a Higher National Diploma, a minimum of lower credit is necessary. All candidates must also possess their NYSC discharge or exemption certificates by the time of the recruitment.

Additionally, applicants for positions requiring a Nigeria Certificate in Education must achieve a minimum of merit. Aderibigbe emphasized that the commission will prioritize competence and integrity in the recruitment process, ensuring it remains free from political interference.
