Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has initiated the distribution of food relief items donated by the Federal Government to over 10,000 families in the Mafa Local Government Area. The distribution took place on Tuesday across four centers in Mafa town, the local government’s headquarters. Each of the 10,000 households received a relief package consisting of one bag of maize grain.
Governor Zulum expressed gratitude to the Federal Government for the support and noted that similar food items had previously been distributed in Gwoza and Nganzai. He mentioned that this distribution represents the final batch of the Federal Government’s donated food items to the state.
In addition to the food relief, Governor Zulum has commenced a separate initiative to distribute N150 million in cash and wrappers to 15,000 women in Mafa town. Each woman will receive a package that includes N10,000 in cash and one wrapper, with the funds being administered through the Borno State Microfinance Bank.
Governor Zulum emphasized the importance of these distributions in supporting the local population, particularly female heads of households, in the aftermath of recent challenges.
