El-Kanemi Warriors, the 2024 Federation Cup champions, are set to face Dadje FC of Benin Republic this Saturday at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne. This venue change comes as their home ground in Maiduguri did not meet the CAF accreditation standards.

El-Kanemi secured their spot in the CAF Confederation Cup after a 2-0 victory over Abia Warriors in the President Federation Cup final held in Lagos in June. Nasiru Salihu’s two goals were pivotal in clinching El-Kanemi’s third Federation Cup title and marking their return to the Nigeria Premier Football League.

As El-Kanemi prepares for their continental campaign, goalkeeper Abine, a key player in their Federation Cup triumph, has expressed confidence in their new temporary home. “Since arriving in Ikenne, the atmosphere has been welcoming, and our training sessions have been very focused and intense,” Abine said.
