A French band captivated attendees at a state dinner in Paris on Thursday with a performance of P-Square’s hit song “Testimony (Taste the Money)” in honour of Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The dinner, held at the Palais de l’Élysée, marked the highlight of President Tinubu’s three-day state visit to France, aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.

In a now-viral video, the band infused a unique French touch into their lively rendition of the Afrobeat classic, blending the vibrant Nigerian rhythm with their distinctive style. The performance drew enthusiastic applause from the audience, including President Tinubu and First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who visibly appreciated the cultural homage.

Adding to the celebration of Nigerian music, the band also performed Bracket’s “Mama Africa,” further showcasing the global influence of Nigerian Afrobeat on an international stage.

This visit underscores growing cultural and economic collaboration between Nigeria and France, as both nations explore deeper partnerships in various sectors.
