The 25-year-old striker collided with Kasimpasa goalkeeper Andreas Gianniotis shortly after the second half began, casting doubt on his fitness for both club and country in October. Osimhen had earlier scored two goals within 28 minutes, helping Galatasaray to a 2-0 lead, but the team ultimately settled for a 3-3 draw.
Buruk shared his frustration with the demanding match schedule, which he believes contributes to player injuries, noting that Osimhen’s injury could sideline him for Nigeria’s crucial double-header against Libya in October. He criticized the fixture congestion, adding that frequent games have led to rotations in the squad to prevent further injuries. Despite a strong start to the match, Galatasaray struggled in the second half after losing key players like Osimhen and Sallai.
Former Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik also weighed in on Osimhen’s transfer to Galatasaray, hinting that non-football-related factors might have played a role in the move.
